What people don’t realize is just how anyone can pay a sum of money and gain 10,000 followers on say instagram or twitter, they also have the ability to control these accounts which they can pay someone money to send messages from say 10,000 people. Today is Father’s day so happy Father’s Day to all the fathers IMA LET YOU FINISH BUT it is also my mom’s birthday. Double whammy. On this day my mother was born, and so was Tupac. Upon realization of Tupac Shakur’s birth date a few years back i was a little entertained by the fact, but now i just see Tupac’s face when my mom’s birthday is approaching. Not just any Tupac but a very specific one from his album cover. Not satisfied with this imagery and also in an attempt to wipe the slate clean of Tupac, I decided to dig deeper. This is what I found. June 16 was a very significant date for war so i will keep most of it out of this post unless it was named something cool. Today in 1487 was the Battle of Stoke Field ( the final engagement of the War of the Roses), 1715 French and Indian War ( French surrender to the British on this day), 1816 Lord Byron reads a ghost story to 4 guests among them was Mary Shelley, he then challenges his guests to write a ghost story in which Mary Shelley countered his challenge with “Frankenstein” ( Mary won that challenge I suppose), 1846 Pope Pius IX was elected for what would be the longest reign in the history of the papacy , 1903 Ford Motor Company became incorporated, 1911 IBM was founded and SAME DAY a meteorite struck earth in Wisconsin (of course), 1940 Communism is installed in Lithuania, 1950 my mom was born ♥ , 1963 The first woman made it into space thanks to the soviet space program, 1981 Ken Taylor was the first foreign citizen awarded the congressional gold medal for saving 6 americans in Iran posing as a film crew for a science fiction movie later to be played by Ben Affleck (Argo, not bad Ken), 2010 Bhutan is first country to place a total ban on Tobacco (Bhutan sounds like a bad word i’ve heard italian people say, but good job anyways), 2012 China Launches a space craft same day as ours is landing from a space expedition (D*cks), and 2013 i wrote this post. Notable figures born on this day are John Cleveland, Geronimo (yes that one), Roberto Duran, and said Tupac. When I saw the list of deaths none were really standouts in my honest opinion, which is a good thing. June 16th is also considered Christian Feast Day (as in a celebration occurs and not when people consume or ingest Christians), International Day of the African Child (Reminds me of Get Him to the Greek, Big ups to Infant Sorrow), Sussex day in Sussex, and Youth Day in South Africa. My mom was born in the middle of the century, middle of the month, middle of the year, 6/16/50. In the middle of everything, including my heart. I should have probably written this inside her birthday card but I paid like 9 dollars for the one i bought her so the writing inside would be good. To make a long story short, Shit went down today in history and ITS ABOUT TO GO DOWN.
